I recommend using a solid fabric with a solid cut stabilizer for this file - HOWEVER, my embroidery fairies have successfully stitched on a satin blend (pillowcase), a translucent fabric without stabilizer (embroidery frame image), Sensalux (light bag), jersey (t-shirt) and faux leather (cover image).
